Tasting Notes 101: How to Identify Coffee Flavors

The dishes were simple and straightforward, and highlighted each ingredient really well. Similar to how you would expect to have food at a hole in the wall izakaya in Japan. I ordered the yudofu set and it was surprisingly refreshing and full of umami! Especially when you mix rice and egg into the nabe pot after.
The grilled dishes (we ordered liver and beef tongue) were perfectly charred and smokey. Perfect with a cold beer on a Monday night. Will definitely come back when we’re in the mood to have izakaya style food without the overly stimulating atmosphere!!

I highly recommend starting with their chicken karaage—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The yakisoba, egg soup, and skewers are also standout dishes that pair perfectly with a cold soju or beer. Every bite tasted authentic, which makes sense considering the owner is Japanese and clearly passionate about the cuisine.
